Looking Ahead: An Update on the Podcast
Reflecting On What’s Next...
With the upcoming release of Episode 36, Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), the podcast reaches an important turning point. After this episode, there will be some changes to the show as it moves into its next phase.
Episode 36 will feature Jessica, Brad, and me as we take a deep dive into the second film in the original Planet of the Apes series. In many ways, it’s a fitting film to accompany a moment of transition, as it also marks the close of a particular chapter for the podcast itself.
Episode 36 will mark Jessica’s final appearance as a recurring contributor to the podcast. From the very beginning, Jess has brought sharp insight, thoughtful analysis, and a genuine enthusiasm that helped get the show off the ground and establish its voice. Her contributions have played a significant role in shaping both the conversations and the overall tone listeners have come to expect, and her impact on the show’s foundation cannot be overstated. I want to sincerely thank her for the time, dedication, and care she put into the podcast.
This episode will also mark Bradford’s final appearance on the podcast. Brad’s curiosity, perspective, and willingness to engage deeply with the themes, ideas, and oddities of the Planet of the Apes series have added real depth to these discussions. His presence has been an important part of this run, and I’m deeply grateful for the time, dedication, and energy he brought to the show.
To be clear, there’s no drama or bad blood here. Life shifts, priorities change, and circumstances come in waves. New commitments and responsibilities have come up for both of them that made the podcast less of a focus, and that’s completely understandable. I’m thankful for the time we’ve shared working on this series together.
Following the release of Episode 36, I’ll be taking some time to re-evaluate the format of the podcast and consider what the next phase of the show should look like. That may include inviting new voices to join the conversation, or continuing the remainder of the series solo. Either way, the core spirit of exploration and thoughtful discussion remains central to the show.
Thank you to everyone who listens, shares, and supports the podcast. Your continued engagement makes these conversations possible, and I truly appreciate you sticking with the show as it moves forward into its next chapter.
